Prototype of a balancing lamp to showcase a handmade creation of cork panels How to play: The user stacks the 6 independent modules and connects them with 3 electrical connectors. Magic, the entire column lights up! The more the balance is pushed to its limit, the more the light shines through.
Lightweight, rough, shock-resistant, and electrically insulating, cork is the ideal material for playing! However, the commercial offer of cork panels for construction lacks visual and haptic qualities. That’s why we decided to create a non-homogeneous material and, through a sculptural object, experience all its nuances.
We have created a 100% plant-based recipe that brings together the different types of cork from the company Lièges Junque: male cork half-cannons, extra-thick cork sheets, as well as collected cork powders and sawdust. The manufacturing process of this material has a very low ecological impact
The manufacturing process of this material with very low ecological impact allows for the surface of the panel to be truly designed. With Badaboom, we present 24 research samples, all different. The possibilities are endless!
We won 3rd place at Quercus Suber design competition with the lamp and will get the chance to exhibit it during Design Parade !
Throwing things in the waste bin? What an odd behavior !
Inspired by the archeological treasure of Marseille History Museum, which are ancient wastes collected from the sea, we proposed a small «factory» that explored the potential treasure of our own waste bins. The installation gathered 80 modules, each presenting a recipe combining cellulose waste with foraged herbs and plants. Colours and texture were defined during the recycling process and explained by the sound installation.
