Handcrafted High-End Ecomaterial
3rd price at 2023 Quercus Suber design competition

As a sustainable alternative to industrial cork boards made with petrochemicals and standardized particles, Atelier JaM developed Cork Décor.
Crafted under strict ecological guidelines, the material uses Liège Junqué byproducts—specifically second-grade cork panels, particles, and dust. To highlight the natural beauty of oak bark, the studio created a composite: bark slices embedded in a base of cork dust and sawdust.
Bound with starch glue, pressed mechanically without heat, and air-dried, Cork Décor is a proof of concept in slow, low-impact processing.
Each board features a unique design and can be cut and assembled just like wood.
