Origami shaped LIght fixture in handmade eco cork material
Winner of 2026 Quercus Suber design competition
The wall lamp is produced using two existing techniques applied to our handmade cork agglomerate.
Slab building, used in ceramics, allows for the creation of a thin sheet of agglomerate.
Pleating with paper molds, used in the textile industry, allows for the gradual structuring of the slab while shaping it into a three-dimensional form.
As it dries, the cork solidifies the movement imparted by the origami mold, creating a dynamic surface that is magnified by light. This new approach opens up a range of adaptable and cost-effective shaping possibilities, enabling the creation of a line of lighting fixtures that blend the earthy and ethereal qualities of cork.
