Installation co-created with Solange Battarra and exhibited in "L'objet d'une rencontre" at Marseille History Museum
What if the dredge barge -so-called Marie-Salope- were not collecting waste but potential resources? What if we considered cardboard no longer as a cheap industrial material but as a crafted, locally produced and high-quality material?
For this installation inspired by the museum collection, we created a large-scale color palette by sorting out and transforming domestic waste. An audio invites the visitors to have a  closer at the material. Each module present a recipe made of a mix of different types of cellulose waste like packing material, eggbox, newspaper, kraft bag... binded together with the use of potatoe starch glue. Divided by color, damped in water, each material become a colorful dough. By combining the doughs together we create plain and marled colors. To add nuances and texture, we collected and added crushed seeds and leaves collected around the studio. The results bewildered the visitors who thought it was ceramic pieces.
